Friday
Friends UMW United Methodist Women OVERVIEW: Friday Friends UMW is a branch of the United Methodist Women who meet on the second Friday of each month at the church. Our group gives women with busy schedules an opportunity to slow down for a couple of hours to share in fellowship, devotions, and missions. Since our first meeting in November 2003, this group has baked cookies for Kids' Christmas Fun Day, redecorated the women's restroom, sewn teddy bears for VIP, volunteered at a Habitat for Humanity site, and assembled care packages for VIP and Children and Youth. Our goal is to provide friendship and support to one another and to serve our church and community in missions that affect women and families. *We invite all women to join us in Christian fellowship the second Friday of each month at the church, beginning at 7 p.m. unless otherwise specified. NOVEMBER News: Upcoming Friday Friends
Events: We invite anyone
to join us as we attend the Virgin Consort on Friday December 7.
There will be a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board.

January 11, 2008—open to all youth and adults **************************************************************************** Friday,
August 11, several members of Friday Friends spent the day assisting at
the Habitat for Humanity site. We
have been helping at a Habitat site for the past three years, and every
time we go, we feel blessed by the opportunity to work with a group of
such friendly and considerate individuals.
We encourage more church members to volunteer with Habitat whenever
possible. No experience
necessary—they will gladly train anyone who volunteers.
Habitat Work Day
August 19, 2004
Four members of Friday Friends UMW spent Thursday, August 19, 2004 on the
Habitat for Humanity site. Though we knew nothing about installing
insulation, we were given that assignment, shown how to do it, and set
about insulating four rooms and two closets by the end of the day. It
was a terrific and fulfilling experience, as we not only learned new
skills but also met many dedicated and patient volunteers, including the
woman whose family will soon move into the house. We worked hard but
felt blessed by the opportunity to participate and help others. We are
looking into the possibility of returning for a Saturday work day in
September or October and encourage others to join in. If you are
interested, contact the church office at 729-7011. You will feel God's
blessing at helping such a worthy cause!
